Doing so will unlock some extra modes for you to complete, which are pretty dang challenging in and of themselves. From the visuals to the gameplay to the music, Sayonara Wild Hearts is very much its own thing. It is a game that feels wholly unique and wholly unafraid to be itself. Every level throws something unique at you, so things never really get stale. Sayonara Wild Hearts would respond by shrugging its shoulders, taking a long dreg from its cigarette, and saying well, that’s like, your problem, man. As the heart of a young woman breaks, the balance of the universe is disturbed. One second you're flying through the air gathering hearts, the next you're timing a button press just right in the middle of a swordfight, and after that, your bike is firing lasers at some flying skulls. Sayonara Wild Hearts is a euphoric music video dream about being awesome, riding motorcycles, skateboarding, dance battling, shooting lasers, wielding swords, and breaking hearts at 200 mph. The game will also switch things up constantly. It's kind of like a reverse shoot 'em up, as you're on rails and you have to change lanes to gather hearts and avoid obstacles. You essentially listen to some pretty catchy pop music, and then try to gather hearts as your character zooms forward. The gameplay reminded me of a cross between Rez and Audiosurf.
